April’s Walk with a Doc was a success! We braved the cold, snowy April weather and are looking forward to more events in the sunshine! We hope to see you next time!

Tuesday, May 15, 2018 6:30 pm — EDS Exercise Class at the Hilliard Clinic 
Please join us on the third Tuesday of each month for a movement class that is friendly for those suffering from Ehlers Danlos! The class is led by Dr. Mandi and will be adapted to everyone’s individual abilities! Do as little or as much as you can! Come as you are, take away tips, movements, and positions to keep you feeling good and better manage your EDS.
Saturday, July 21, 2018 9:00 am– Cbus Beat Down at the Westerville Central High School
The CBus Beatdown is on it’s way to Town! Columbus’s FIRST event at a Collegiate Track and Field, this is bound to have some Fun and Creative Programming you’re not always able to Prepare for in a Traditional Training Environment. Check out this website for more information! Active Physical Therapy will be there doing injury assessments and would love to see you there!
Hilliard Clinic New Toys

We have some new equipment at our Hilliard location! Check out our new Rouge Squat Rack and Cable Column! We are extemely excited to take movement to another level! We have also installed updated cabinetry! We are loving our stylish and updated Hilliard location and we hope you do as well!  

Dr. John Snyder Joins Active Family

Welcome Dr. John Snyder! John is a native to Columbus and played D1 Hockey collegiality. He is still very involved in the hockey community and specializes in treating hips and athletes! We are extremely excited that he has joined our team! You can find him at our Hilliard location now! 


Running Workshop Recap 

The Running Workshop was a huge success! 
Dr. Mandi helped runners identify biomechanical abnormalities in order to increase their speed and decrease their 400m run time! Stay tuned for another amazing Running Workshop in the near future!

Active PT’s role in Joey’s Journey to Crossfit Regionals

Dr. Mandi’s client and Crossfit Grandview athelete, Joey Tortora is on the road to Crossfit Reagionals! He has been sharing his journey leading up to his competition and explaining how Active Physical Therapy has been a key component with his training. From participating in the Running Workshop, focusing on efficient and effective warm ups, dry needling, and lots of core stability to improve his handstand walks! Follow him on Instagram and help cheer him on at Crossfit Regionals in Nashville, TN May 25th- 27th! 

Hilliard’s New Gear

The new Rogue Squat Rack and Cable Column are all set up and ready to be used! Be sure to check out the new cabinets as well as Active’s new sign located up front near our amazing Patient Care Coordinators! 

 

John received his Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from the University of Pittsburgh in 2014. While in graduate school his website was named the top student physical therapy blog two years in a row and he served as the Vice President of the American Academy of Orthopedic Manual Physical Therapists (AAOMPT) Student Special Interest Group. Prior to beginning graduate school, he earned his Bachelor of Science in Applied Sciences degree from Youngstown State University where he studied Exercise Science and played ACHA Division 1 Ice Hockey.
In order to further himself as a clinician, he has also obtained board certification as an Orthopaedic Clinical Specialist and is a Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist. Read more about him here.

Running Workshop

Our April Running Workshop was a huge success! Check out all of our runner’s improvement times above! Dr. Mandi and her expertise advise helped shave off 30+ seconds off of Aaron’s run time! Everyone had amazing advancements by learning proper movement while running! Congrats runners!

Welcome Meg!
Meg Kemerer received an associates degree in Medical Administration in 2009. Prior to joining the Active PT team, she worked as an office manager at an educational learning center for kids.
Meg is a former patient and currently trains at Crossfit Grandview. When she’s not at Active PT or Crossfit, you can find her spending time with her nieces and nephew (7, 4, & 2) or exploring Columbus with friends.

As the Spring 2018 Semester comes to a close, we are so thankful for the students that worked this hard helping us out around the clinic!

We wish Kelly, our PT Student from the University of Dayton, best of luck as she graduates this May and hears back about her boards very soon! We had a great semester and look forward to working with more students this summer.​​
